Programs & Events for Seniors
In addition to the events and programs for all community members, like T'ia Chi Chih and Yoga, Bonnie Doon has some activities that are organized by and for seniors in our community. If you're a Bonnie Doon senior or you know someone that is be sure to check out the upcoming events and activities below.
Films & LunchNOTE - All Bonnie Doon Community League Programming is cancelled until further notice.
The National Film Board monthly events for seniors are held at Bonnie Doon Hall. Screenings (no charge) start at 10:30 a.m. followed by a light lunch ($2 per person) at 11:45 a.m. Upcoming films include:

Seniors Activities In The AreaEdmonton Public Library Idylwylde (Bonnie Doon) Branch has programming for seniors on Tuesday mornings from 10.30am. Located at the north end of Bonnie Doon mall at 8310-88 Avenue.
Information is here on their programming. South East Edmonton Seniors Association (SEESA) Activity Centre is located nearby at 9350-82 Street. Their mission is: "SEESA provides programs and services that will help seniors maintain and enhance their quality of life". They offer everything from mens yoga to floor bowling, table tennis to cribbage. Or simply drop by for lunch or a coffee in the cafeteria. Railway Historian Colin Hatcher gave a presentation on Bonnie Doon's Historic Streetcar, which began operation in 1912. Colin's has kindly shared the manuscript from his presentation with us and you can read it here. A map of how Bonnie Doon looked in the 1950's was shared with attendees of the History Tea.
