Outdoor Soccer Program
Bonnie Doon Community League is once again partnering with Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) to bring outdoor soccer to kids in Bonnie Doon for the 2020 season. For those new to our program, here’s Bonnie Doon’s outdoor soccer program in a nutshell:
1. Create an account and register online at emsasoccerportal.com Online payment option available and recommended. Print 2 copies of online registration.
2. Attend either of the in person registration sessions at Bonnie Doon Community League's Rink Shack ( 9240-93 St) to complete the process. Registration sessions are February 10 and February 12, 2020 6pm - 7.30pm. Bring 2 copies of registration printout, uniform deposit cheque (U9 and up), volunteer deposit (1 per family), proof of age and proof of community league membership. Late registration can be made though the EMSA office.

*** Zone wide soccer registration is March 4 from 5-8 pm and March 7 from 10-1 pm at Bonnie Doon Centre ***
Thank you to all the new and returning coaches. Coaches will be contacting their teams mid April.
Season starts early May - check with coaches for your teams start date. Season ends with the Paul Johnson Tournament in June 2020.
U5, U7, U11, U15 play on Mondays and Wednesdays. U9 and U13 play on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

- Culminates in the fun, zone-wide Paul Johnston Tournament at the end of June
- Is based on age groupings (Under 5, 7, 9, etc.); boys and girls play together until U9
- Has two games per week, on either Mon-Wed or Tue-Thur
- Has games involving teams from the same and adjacent neighbourhoods.
- Relies on parents and other community volunteers for coaches and managers

We have built up a great program in Bonnie Doon over the years thanks to fantastic Directors, coaches and refs. Below is a list of the key volunteer roles for our soccer program:
Soccer Co-Ordinator (Colin Hansen) - oversees the program and support crew, does registrations, makes teams, liaison with other SE zone directors, attends director meetings.
Soccer Volunteer Coordinator (Andrea) - confirms contact info and role of all volunteers, schedules volunteers by task or event as needed by the Director.
Equipment and Fields Coordinator (Mark Edwards) - help organize and maintain equipment, coordinates initial field painting crews and schedules refresher crews.
Coach and Referee Liaison (Yolanda) - maintains database of credentials, send out info emails as requested by Director or Ref Coordinator.
Referee coordinator (Angela) - coordinates all the referees for Bonnie Doon games.

Relying on a strong group of dedicated coordinators, coaches and parent supporters, the Bonnie Doon soccer program has a reputation of fielding quality outdoor and indoor teams that perform well, foster individual and team performance skills, and most importantly, have a lot of fun!
For those new to our program, here’s Bonnie Doon’s outdoor soccer program in a nutshell:
- Runs roughly from the first week of May to the last week of June
- Culminates in the fun, zone-wide Paul Johnston Tournament at the end of June for U5, U7 and U9 ages
- U11 and older may qualify for the City Wide finals
- Is based on age groupings (Under 5, 7, 9, etc.); boys and girls play together until U9
- Has two games per week, on either Mon-Wed or Tue-Thur (same nights all season), with practices either scheduled before games (young ages) or on separate nights (older ages)
- Has games involving teams from the same and adjacent neighbourhoods. Home games are mostly at Maurice Lavallee and Rutherford school.
- Relies on parents and other community volunteers for coaches, managers and coordinating activities
- Offers mandatory, licensed training for coaches
- Is affordable, costing between $115 and $265 per child and inclusive - sponsorships are available on a case-by-case basis
- Is a great way to meet other children and families in our neighbourhood
If more competitive soccer is of interest, the Southeast Storm selects top players from our zone for teams U9 and up.

If more competitive soccer is of interest, the Southeast Storm selects top players from our zone for teams U10 and up.
The program is thankful for local business support in the past, and always welcomes sponsorship support.

For those new to our program, here’s the Southeast Zone's community indoor soccer program in a nutshell:
- Runs roughly from mid-October to end of February
- Options for teams to try and make city finals and beyond
- Is based on age groupings (Under 6, 8, 10, etc.); boys and girls play together until U10
- Has one game per week, on either Saturday or Sunday, and for U8 and older, one practice per week (same weeknight)
- All games are played at one of the City's indoor soccer centres (west, east, south)
- Relies on parents and other community volunteers for coaches, managers and coordinating activities
- Offers mandatory, licensed training for coaches
- Is affordable, costing between $170 and $255 per child and inclusive - sponsorships are available on a case-by-case basis
- Is a great way to meet other children and families in our neighbourhood
