BDCL Board Job Descriptions: Secretary
Summary
The Secretary's principle job is to record the minutes of each year's six board meetings and the AGM. There is little to record at a meeting, just date, location, who attended, motions proposed and decisions taken (although you may record other material if you wish). On occasion, you might be asked to sign a BDCL cheque (the President and Treasurer are available to sign most cheques). Responsibilities Records minutes during board and general meetings (motions and decisions). Sends email containing minutes to board members at most seven days after a meeting. Maintains up to date contact information for all board members. In the absence of the president and vice-president, chairs board meetings until the election of an alternate chairperson (at the time of updating this page, 2016.4.18, the secretary has not had to perform this duty going back at least five years). Acts as a signing officer for cheques and other documents. |
