The Keepers of Mill Creek are pleased to once again be collaborating with The City of Edmonton, local community leagues and Edmonton's French Quarter's Business Association to organize its annual clean-up in Mill Creek Ravine Park.
The clean-up will start at the Peace Mile Rock at the north end of Mill Creek Pool's Parking lot. Please bring your own gloves and water bottle. Garbage bags and disposable gloves will be provided. The clean-up area is from Mill Creek Bridge north to Connors Rd.
A free BBQ compliments of the French Quarter's Business Association and M&M Meats from Bonnie Doon Centre, will be held from 12-1pm at the base of 87th Ave, across from the two homes that mark this location.
Everyone welcome. The clean-up will proceed rain or shine.
A few things to note about the upcoming clean up:
1. We will meet at the North end of the upper Mill Creek Pool parking lot (by the peace mile marker). Cleaning supplies will be provided there. Volunteers can make their way North as far as Connors Road, and can take any route they choose for cleaning.
2. Once you've filled up a garbage bag during the clean up, leave it anywhere on one of the main trails (paved or gravel). City staff will be coming by later to collect the garbage bags.
3. If you come across a camp set up of some kind, or any needles, try to make note of your location (i.e. screen shot where you are on Google maps if you have a cell phone). Do not pick up any needles or campsite items. City of Edmonton staff will be notified of these locations following the clean up.
Thanks so much, and see you this Sunday
