The City has posted an interesting PDF file describing the general theme for the new LRT station to be built on 95 Ave, between 87 and 89 Streets. Also, check out their interactive map that shows details of the new LRT line's routing (tips: use the magnify tool in the map's top left corner and click and drag the map to see a different part of the line).

Our neighbours in Strathearn will hold an Art Walk and After Party, Saturday, September 29. "Celebrate visual arts in our community with a day of looking at art, buying art and making art." More...
We had to move the Playgroup from Thursday to Wednesday morning, owing to a new hall user. We did not want to inconvenience the parents who have become used to the Thursday time slot but the harsh reality is that the League very much needs the revenue the new hall user will bring in (the league underwrites the cost of the hall for the Playgroup).
An Edmonton-based property development company owns the Sisters of Charity buildings in our community (91 Street, south of La Cité and opposite the Campus Saint-Jean. That company has engaged a local consulting firm to create ideas for developing the property. The consultants invited the League to their offices where our Civics Chair, Ed Keding and President, Mark Gordon, met with them on September 4. The development company has asked for the Community League’s input before committing themselves to specific development plans.
Frankly, the League does not have a clear policy on development and we told the consultants that. The League knows that large development projects have the potential to make Bonnie Doon a nicer place to live -- or to exacerbate problems with traffic, parking, green space, etc. If you live in Bonnie Doon and want to speak up on this subject, please do. You can email Ed, come to one of our monthly league meetings (normally the third Thursday evening; check our website's home page) or attend the town hall meeting we plan for October (stay tuned). Wednesdays, starting September 13 from 9:00 to 11:00am. We have lots of toys to play with and the space to run around! Bring a snack, just drop in, it's free. Located in the Bonnie Doon Hall. [Updated October, 2012; was on a different day.]
One last reminder: We are going to have a community BBQ Friday, September 14 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. All residents of Bonnie Doon are welcome.
There will be children’s activities, games, entertainment and more. And dinner will be on us! It will take place at our hall, outside if the weather cooperates. We hope you come, enjoy some food and laughter and meet some neighbours. For more info email our Social Chair, Erin. Many thanks to Robin Hage for his generous donation to our soccer program. It allowed us to purchase new uniforms for three teams. Robin is a community-minded real estate agent who does a fair amount of business in Bonnie Doon.
