This year, the Folk Festival runs from Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7. During those four days, parking in Bonnie Doon roughly from 92 Ave to Connor's Road will require a permit. To see if the exact locations requiring a permit, see the map below.
If you have a driver's license, passport, etc, that proves you live at one of the restricted parking locations, you can get a parking permit by visiting the Bonnie Doon Rink Shack at 9240 93 Street at these dates & times:

Why Restricted Parking?
The streets in the north end of Bonnie Doon are narrow. In previous years during Folk Fest, streets were jammed with parked cars, sometimes preventing the passage of fire trucks and ambulances. Restricting parking to one side allows emergency vehicles to get to their destination.
What About the Rest of the Year?
You might wonder what problems emergency vehicles cope with when Folk Fest does not run and cars & trucks are parked on both sides of the narrow, north end streets? BDCL does not have an answer for that. We are simply trying to support this arrangement between concerned citizens and the City.
