Please join the Bonnie Doon Community Refugee Sponsorship Group for A Taste of Syria, a fundraiser in support of the Marees, a refugee family from Syria now living in our neighbourhood. The event will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Bonnie Doon Hall. Cost: $40.

FOOD AND DRINK
Guests will have the chance to sample the delicious foods of Syria. Enjoy a variety of appetizers (including vegetarian options) and desserts. There will be a cash bar with a nice selection of wine and beer.
SILENT AUCTION
The silent auction is a fantastic opportunity to bid on terrific items, including sporting tickets, opera tickets, a sailing excursion on Lake Wabamun, Middle Eastern cooking class in a local home and more!
MUSIC
Live music will be provided by Meran Currie-Roberts and Rafael Hoekman, cellists with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
Roy Abdalnour will perform traditional Middle Eastern music, accompanied by Khaled Nakkouzi on keyboard. Roy was a professional violinist in Syria before coming to Edmonton.
DANCE
Belediyya Dance Company, which has performed at events such as Edmonton Heritage Days and the Syrian Arts Festival, will do several Syrian dance numbers.
