What a beautiful evening at our annual Supper's On Us event yesterday. And thanks to a grant from the City of Edmonton for birthday cakes, we were able to turn the event into birthday party to celebrate Bonnie Doon Community League turning 100! We hope you all enjoyed the free BBQ, bouncy castles and birthday cake!
Thank you to the over 30 volunteers who gave of their time to help put this event on for our community, from the set up crew to the food shoppers, the water melon cutters, to the BBQ team, the 50:50 sellers, SWAG team, washer uppers and everyone else who pitched in throughout the event and for cleanup. We're lucky to live in such an amazing neighbourhood.
We'd like to give special thanks to 100-year old Anne Malyj, who is featured in our history book on pages 142 and 196, for making the first cut in the birthday cake! And thank you to cake servers Valerie and Erhardt Schirmaier, who cut their wedding cake in Bonnie Doon Hall 61 years ago, and also Dr John Taylor for his assistance.
