Americans visiting Bonnie Doon from Arizona lost their miniature schnauzer today at 4:30pm in Mill Creek Ravine. Last seen heading north on the trails, around 88 Avenue. Heidi, the schnauzer, is seven months old and wears a pink collar. She is grey with white whiskers.

The Bonnie Doon Community League has requested that the City of Edmonton implement parking restrictions, for a portion of Bonnie Doon during the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, August 8 – 11, 2013.

Parking restrictions are being implemented during the festival to ensure safe passage for emergency vehicles,
and to reduce parking congestion in the neighbourhood during the festival. On–street parking areas will be
signed as:

• No Parking (anytime),
• No Stopping (anytime), or
• No Parking – Except resident with valid permit (see map)

A limited number of On‐street parking permits will be available for the No Parking – except resident with
valid permit areas. Please consult the map to find out if you are eligible for a parking permit. Vehicles parked without a valid permit will be subject to tag and tow during the Edmonton Folk Music Festival.

On‐street Parking permits are available for pick up at the Bonnie Doon Hall:

• Wednesdays July 24, and 31 from 7:15pm to 9:15pm, or
• Sundays July 28 and Aug 4, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Picture ID and proof of residence required at time of pickup.

Please make every effort to pickup your On‐street parking permit at Bonnie Doon Hall on the dates indicated. On‐street parking permits are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is nothing like swimming outdoors or lounging by a pool on a hot summer day. Community league members have free admission at City of Edmonton outdoor pools. Remember to bring your BDCL membership card.

Community swim times for 2013 are:

• Mill Creek Pool, every day except Statutory Holidays, 7 pm to 9 pm (ends Sept 18)
• Queen Elizabeth Pool, Sunday through Wednesday, 5 pm to 7 pm (ends Sept 18)
• Fred Broadstock Pool, Sunday through Wednesday, 5 pm to 7 pm (ends Sept 18)
• Oliver Pool, Sunday through Wednesday, 5 pm to 7 pm (ends Sept 2)

Except for guaranteed hours at Queen Elizabeth Outdoor Pool, pools will close for inclement weather or temperatures forecast below 18° C. Leagues members are able to access the facility 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time.

If you haven't yet renewed your membership for the current season, BDCL is offering a chance to do it at a discounted price. For the rest of the 2012-2013 season, some memberships will be priced as follows: Family 20$, Adult 10$, Single Parent Family 10$.

Are your kids looking for something fun to do? The Green Shack Program at Bonnie Doon Community League is offering free, supervised, drop-in activities for kids all summer long.

The hours are from 10am to 5:30pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 1:30pm - 5:30pm on Fridays.

Kids between the ages of 6 and 12 are invited to take part in the program which offers games, programs and crafts.

The Green Shack Program is free of charge. It will run until August 23.

The French Quarter Farmers' Market is off to a great start in its first season of operation!

The market is getting rave reviews from customers as well as vendors. Vendors have noted how friendly and easygoing their clientele has been.
