On Aug. 6 during a Bonnie Doon’s 'Men’s Shed’’ Bike Tour, seven of our neighbours told about several important people and places that made Bonnie Doon what it is today. We heard the stories of growing up in Bonnie Doon, two surviving and cherished heritage homes, the Papaschase First Nation, the Molstad, Donald and Connors families, the Campus St. Jean and the Dawson Huts for returning WW11 veterans along with of the interesting history of the strange misalignment of 91 street at the ‘Bulgogi’ corner due to the River Lot system of our early land surveyors.
Counting the presenters we were more than 25 altogether spanning ages from 1 to the 70’s.
The Bonnie Doon’s Men’s Shed wishes to thank those who joined us on this historical bike trip and all those of our community who put up with our traffic delays on the roads and especially to those who made this trip into Bonnie Doon’s history possible: David Borgstrom, Jim Clifford, Dolores Carriere, Laura and Derek Lemmens, Mark Gordon, Margaret Russell, Jeremy Shepherd, Herb Taylor and John Taylor.
