About 250 permits were provided to residents, allowing them to park on the street during the four-day festival. In the past, streets closest to Gallagher Park were clogged with parked cars as Edmontonians flocked to the festival site.
A big thank you goes to residents Maryse Kearns and JF who worked with the City of Edmonton and the Bonnie Doon Community League to implement the parking restrictions.
Kearns recommends implementing the parking restrictions during the 2014 Edmonton Folk Music Festival with some minor adjustments, such as asking the City to expand the boundaries where the parking restrictions are in effect. She said the parking restrictions were a success and that many people were grateful that they didn't need to worry about where to park their vehicle during the folk fest this year.
Residents who have feedback on parking restrictions in Boon Donn during this year or next year's folk fest are encouraged to email: [email protected].
