La Cité Francophone in Edmonton’s French Quarter will be hosting a new vibrant and exciting indoor and outdoor Farmers’ market starting this summer. A focus on locally produced artisan foods, beverages, and music will reflect the growing food culture in Edmonton, infused with a European flair. Open year round on Sundays from Noon to 5 PM starting on June 16, 2013, this market offers a pleasant atmosphere and experience for weekenders and shoppers alike. Building on the successes of its past events, La Cité Francophone would like to invite anyone and everyone that loves art, food, and drink to experience the French Quarter in all of its vitality and beauty.
Artisan cheeses, wines, pastries, confections, along with farm fresh produce from the region will star the French Quarter Farmers’ Market at the delight of Edmonton’s growing foodie and arts communities. Paired with local artists, entertainers, and mobile food vendors, the architecture and design of the neighbourhood and building provides a festive atmosphere, making the event perfect for spending a Sunday evening while making it friendly to young families. Ample free parking is available to patrons and full wheelchair/stroller access is granted.
