Garage Sale Raises More Than $3,700

We had little idea how much a garage sale would raise when we decided to hold one. It turns out it can raise a lot! The community garage sale we held on May 23 brought in $3,788. About 75 eager bargain hunters were lined up outside the hall waiting to get in before the doors opened. We had a steady stream of shoppers throughout the day. They left with bicycles, beds, drill bits, toys, you name it. The money raised will go toward a new skating rink at Bonnie Doon Hall.

Lots of people donated their surplus possessions for the sale, for which we are very grateful.

Many Bonnie Dooners pitched in to make the event successful but one deserves extra recognition. Nicola Tupas did a remarkable job organizing volunteers, promoting the event, pricing donations, making signs, etc. Nicola gave generously of her time and talents and was a joy to work with.
