The Society invites Bonnie Doon residents to attend a community consultation meeting Tuesday, April 30. You will be able to ask questions about the facility at the meeting and to learn of the Society's efforts to craft a "Good Neighbour Agreement" that will guide their relations with nearby Bonnie Dooners. The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta plans to operate a residence at 8533 90 Street (Residence Assomption). The Society writes that the residence, "will offer programs for recently hospitalized individuals with a mental illness, who have the potential to develop skills for independent living. This 21 tenant facility is supervised 24 hours a day. Individuals participate in a full range of psycho-social rehabilitation activities while living in a residential setting. Tenant services include 24-hour supervision, medication monitoring, life skills training, assistance with activities of daily living, recreational and support programs as well as community resource referrals."
