The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta worked with the community league when establishing Iris House in the Bonnie Doon community. They say they received incredible support from Bonnie Doon, and the City of Edmonton uses our relationship as a best practice when trying to integrate a housing program into a residential community.
They are hosting an event called Open Minds Walk and Run in September and invite Bonnie Dooners to get involved. "This year's Edmonton Open Minds Walk and Run gathering is about raising funds, awareness and honoring those affected by schizophrenia, their families, and caregivers. Bring your family, children, pets, and friends! Together we will raise fund to go towards SSA's client Peer Support programs in Edmonton."
