In previous years the BDCL relied on the Province's STEP program to pay for staff to run the Green Shack program in our park each summer. The recent Alberta budget axed STEP. The City has stepped in with some funding but it looks like Bonnie Doon will have to pay for most of it from our limited budget. The program is very popular so we feel we must continue to operate it.
The Green Shack program leaders help children aged six to 12 enjoy games, sports, crafts, music, drama and special events. Children under the age of six are welcome, too, but must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times.

- Ensure participants play safely
- Are easily identifiable by their blue shirts and name tags
- Are assisted by volunteer Leaders in Training
- Have security clearance, are trained in First Aid and are certified specialists in FUN!
