Some Bonnie Doon residents have been meeting with the city to improve traffic safety in Bonnie Doon. They met May 17, 2023. Their report says, "Five members of the Bonnie Doon Vision Zero community group met with City employees yesterday. Nabila Chatur, Traffic Planner, presented a plan for near term interventions to help limit traffic short-cutting and reduce unsafe speeds in 2 key areas. Biggest takeaway: there are some real actions set to happen in the near future."

Hello, we live in one of te houses on 89 St between 88 and 89 Ave and would like to understand thee design and impact of some of these measures. Particularly the one way that would be in front of our house, but the other measures as well. Could someone get in touch with us about the proposals?

Hi Paul, This was a suggestion from the City, that we had not considered. It is very much directed at reducing traffic volumes on 89St. It is a suggestion that would necessitate further consultation with the neighbours. 89th Street has seen a dramatic incresase in traffic volumes (assumed to be short-cutting) as access to 85 St (by the Mall) is no longer an option. I am coordinating the Vision Zero group. You have 3 neighbours also on 89th Street working on VZ too. You're welcome to join us, or give us your thoughts, or wait for the City's consultation. Thanks! Karen
